OBTAIN YOUR CLASS 2 MEDICAL
The Class 2 Medical Certificate is a standard medical certificate issued by the Cyprus Aeromedical Centre that confirms the applicant’s medical fitness to operate as a pilot in the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) jurisdiction.
PASS THE PRE-ENTRY ICAO ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST
A pre-entry ICAO English test is intended for individuals who are just beginning their aviation training journey. At this stage, no technical aviation knowledge or flying experience is required. The purpose of the assessment is simply to determine whether the candidate can communicate clearly, effectively, and confidently in English in order to commence training successfully.
COMPLETE YOUR PPL SELF STUDY GROUND SCHOOL & OBTAIN COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATES FOR ALL LESSONS
Upon payment of the €2,500 enrolment fee, you will receive your login credentials, providing access to our online training platform. Through the platform, you will have access to all required training materials, including study notes, progress tests, and mock examinations.
To support your preparation, revision sessions are held every Friday on a rotational basis. You may book the session most relevant to your studies and use it to prepare for your final examinations.
Once you have successfully completed the required mock examinations, a Course Completion Certificate will be issued for each subject. These certificates form part of the documentation required when applying for your DCA examinations, as outlined in Step 4.
PASS THE OFFICIAL DCA EXAMS
Once you have successfully completed a mock examination with a minimum score of 75%, you will be eligible to sit the official DCA examinations. To obtain your Private Pilot Licence (PPL), you must successfully pass all nine theoretical knowledge examinations.
You have 18 months from the date of your first successful examination pass to complete all required examinations, as well as your flight training and SkillTest.
All examinations are conducted in a multiple-choice format, and candidates are permitted up to four attempts per subject. Examinations are held once per-month at the DCA Examination Centre, allowing students to plan their study schedule and examination sittings accordingly.
COMPLETE YOUR FLIGHT TRAINING
Our flight training programme consists of 19 structured flight training exercises, which can be completed in the minimum regulatory requirement of 45 flight hours. However, most students typically require between 50 and 55 flight hours to reach the required standard and successfully complete their training.
The total number of hours required varies from student to student and depends entirely on individual progress, aptitude, and performance throughout the training programme.
PASS YOUR SKILL TEST
The Skill Test will be conducted by a DCA-approved Flight Examiner who is authorised to assess candidates for the issue of a Private Pilot Licence.
Upon successful completion of the Skill Test, the required documentation will be submitted to the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) for the issuance of the relevant licence, provided that all other regulatory requirements and prerequisites established by the Authority have been satisfied.
FILE PAPERWORK AND OBRAIN YOUR PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE
Students are responsible for preparing and submitting the required documentation for their Private Pilot Licence (PPL) application upon completion of training.
Should you require assistance, our Approved Training Organisation (ATO) can prepare, process, and submit the application on your behalf for an additional fee. This service is designed to ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and submitted in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements.
The quoted price does not include the Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate. The medical examination is an additional cost payable to the Cyprus Aeromedical Centre.
Please note that while only a Class 2 medical certificate, priced at €140, is required for the PPL, we highly encourage all cadets intending to pursue a commercial license to undergo the Class 1 medical examination, which is priced at €650.
The exams are not part of the quoted course.
Exams are currently conducted by the Department of Civil Aviation Authority, and are charged €17.09 each.
The examiners skill test lasts approximately 1.5hrs and typically costs around €375 for aircraft leasing – depending on the actual flight time – along with an additional €200 for examiner fees.
If it is determined that you require additional flight training, the cost will remain at €250 per hour.
